Ashford Hall is the main, multi-purpose community space for St Nicolas’ Place, Kings Norton in Birmingham. Originally built in 2006 to replace a Victorian function room,  it suffered from an over-lively acoustic making conversation difficult and activity noise apparent in adjoining rooms. Following treatment with bespoke acoustic panelling, designed by TGSacoustics to absorb unwanted sound, all users were delighted with the improvement.

Andrew Driscoll, Venue Manager said:

“We are delighted with the change the acoustic treatment has made to Ashford Hall. Tim understood the diverse requirements of this multi-purpose space and came up with the ideal solution. Since the alterations, there has been an increase in bookings and greater enjoyment of the space by those who use it”

The story did not end there; after a fire in an adjacent room, the absorbers were removed due to smoke damage. TGSacoustics managed the re-fit but not before several months of calls from the regular users demanding their return. A call to Ashford Hall and its community of regular users may convince you of the delight a great acoustical space can bring.
